Uncomfortable Conversations on Anti-Racism
Doing the work means choosing to have Uncomfortable Conversations on Anti-Racism. We are renaming our series to better communicate how we create a space for you to learn, share and reflect with others on anti-racist work that will be hard, compassionate and so worth it.
Come to our session to learn and challenge yourself with the support of a community committed to anti-racism. The session is open for everybody, race, gender, ability and identity and no preparation is required.
Uncomfortable Conversations on Race in the HealthCare System
We all have a legally protected right to equitable health care, but of course structural conditions make this far from everyone’s reality. A lack of knowledge about diseases, genetics and cultural practices are causes for inferior service provision for people of color. Other times, wilful neglect and assumptions are behind large health disparities.
Join our session to learn about the gaps in our health care system and some of the measures currently being taken to address them.
