Studies have shown that minorities report having mental health issues but don’t seek mental health services. The pandemic has drastically changed our daily lives regarding employment, working routines and children’s schooling, to name a few. For many, the pandemic and isolation brought fear, anxiety, worry, loneliness and stress. We will discuss how the pandemic has affected the minority population in Norway. Is there enough access, and what is holding people back from seeking mental health services? Join us for a sit down with Maxmud Mo.
Maxmud Mo
Maxmud has a degree in Clinical psychology with a specialization in health psychology and now working as a practitioner candidate at the Children and youth psychiatry centre. He is also a member of the Association for Intercultural Psychology. Maxmud is an active promoter of mental health awareness programs primarily focused on the minority and immigrant population. Maxmud has about ten years of working experience within mental health institutions, substance abuse rehabilitation centres, and different awareness and prevention programs. Maxmud also offers guidance and mentoring at Mo Counselling.
