The Circle: Stillness. Spoken Word. Connection.
May 30, 2021 @ 18:00 - 20:00 CEST
The Circle: Stillness. Spoken Word. Connection.
In a women’s only addition of The Circle we will be creating space for stillness and connection through the offering of spoken word and poetry readings from the works of pioneering mindful and feminist wordsmiths such as Rumi, David Whyte, Kae Tempest, Kaveri Patel, Lao Tsu, Annais Nin, Carol Ann Duffy, Maya Angelou and Rupi Kaur.
Many of us are currently dealing with overwhelm, disconnection, anxiety and burn out. We’re in and out of pandemic related restrictions, many of us are still spending far too much time online and some are adjusting to re emergence from isolation. We invite you to join us for a break from the usual, to create S P A C E and find sanctuary in compassionate connection. The session will be gently facilitated and will include offerings of poems and writings to guide discussion and reflection. You will be invited to share a lot, a little or just listen; come exactly as you are.
We are building a community of supportive, resilient and empowered people. Connected not because we do not face challenges, but in spite of them. We aim to create a safe and nurturing space where we can all be seen, heard and valued both as we are and as we want to be.
When you leave this session, we hope you will feel nurtured and lifted in your spirit. We look forward to seeing you.
This event is free, please RSVP for the Zoom Link. Note that spaces are limited, so please register your place.
**Please note that as we are creating a safe and supportive space, entry into the event will close at 18:10. Please arrive on time**
This event is co-produced by HerSpace, Diversify and Africa Connect.
