When you think about working in “tech”, what do you imagine? Quite possibly computers, coding, robots, artificial intelligence … and men?

With this series, we aim to challenge these stereotypes by demonstrating the broad range of careers and skills that fall under the category of “tech”, as well as the diverse range of people who work within tech, especially women.

Sarita Runeberg’s Journey in the World of Tech

Sarita Runeberg is a global sales & digital marketing leader with strong expertise in gaming, e-commerce, and retail. She started her career in the public sector and politics but quickly realised that her ambitious personality and get stuff done -attitude were better suited for a faster environment. Therefore she ventured into the world of tech, where she has worked in various customer-facing and leadership roles. She has been in charge of expanding operations to new markets, scaling business operations, leading large and diverse teams consisting of senior experts around the world, and in general building new and innovative products hand in hand with her customers. Sarita is passionate about sustainability and women’s rights, teaching these to her two young daughters as well. She is also a polyglot that speaks seven different languages.

In this session, Sarita will share her story with us, as a woman who has carved out her space working in tech. We will hear about the journey she took to find herself in her current role and how she overcame the barriers along the way.
