Women in Business: Knowing Your Worth – Pricing
January 6, 2021 @ 18:00 - 20:00 CET
Women in Business is a series designed and led by women to share their knowledge about valuable and necessary business skills needed to drive growth at your company. Whether you are a startup or an SME, this series will introduce you to an inspiring, professional and highly skilled woman. Each session will cover a specific topic and will provide valuable expertise to people who are looking to improve their skills to increase their employability or to develop or start their own businesses.
How do we set a price for our service, product or skill? How do we set a price that best reflects our worth? And better yet, how do we make people pay for it?
Setting a price for a service or skill is hard for anyone. It is even harder for women. The gender confidence pay gap is real. 70% of girls and women believe that they are not good enough and they struggle with imposter syndrome, especially in professional spaces. To date, many employed women earn significantly less than their male counterparts, and in many cases, they do not feel confident to ask for a higher wage. This challenge is exacerbated when women run their own businesses: be they consultants, freelancers, or service providers. A lack of confidence and imposter syndrome compounded by an eagerness to sell and generate income often leads people, especially women to under price themselves. In some cases, they might even provide their services for free.
So how do we address and mitigate this challenge? If we are providing measurable value, how do we ensure that we are charging what we are worth, at a price that customers are willing to pay for? Pricing can be both a science and an art.
At this session, you will hear from Chisom Udeze, a seasoned entrepreneur and Founder of HerSpace, Diversify and Mettle Consult. You will gain insight into the formula she uses to set prices for her work and services, and some of the considerations she makes in the process. Chisom will go over some of the proven strategies for pricing and will answer questions from participants based on their particular business or product.
This session, while targeted at women, is also valuable and open to all genders.
Cost: 100NOK
