Uncomfortable Conversations on Anti-Racism: Indigeneity
How are our lives interconnected with people who seemingly are so different from ourselves? Why should we care? The historical and present treatment of the Sámi population in Norway is a stark example of how questions of colonization and racism aren’t merely North American imports, but rather are ongoing processes and relationships that cause disproportional benefit and harm.
Doing the work means choosing having Uncomfortable Conversations on Anti-Racism. We are renaming our series to better communicate how we create a space for you to learn, share and reflect with others on anti-racist work that will be hard, compassionate and so worth it. Bring your questions, provocations and curiosity to this session to better understand the entanglement of environmentalism, resource extraction, Sámi indigeneity and yourself.
