Thriving in Norway: Surviving Winter
January 6, 2021 @ 11:00 - 12:00 CET
Winter can be a great time in Norway but preparation is the key. The dark days, icy streets and freezing rain can dampen the spirit. On top of pandemic restrictions, winter can seem never ending. After 15 winters in Norway, I have learned to find beauty and coping mechanisms to endure the months between November and April. Yes, winter will still be here in April. How do you find the proper winter underlayers, technical materials to look for in your gear and resources for traversing through icy trails and streets. Should you invest in a sunlamp? What vitamins and minerals should be part of your daily ritual when you aren’t used to the dark days? How do you find community and connection with the added bonus of social distancing? Do you want to learn how to ski or ice skate? Where are walking trails during the snowy months? We will also explore ways to sooth the winter blues and what fun there is to be had for kids and adults when temperatures drop below -10C.
Join us for an online session where we can reminisce about sunny days and find ways to enjoy the Norwegian winter months together.
