Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace: Transformational and Authentic Leadership.
June 23, 2021 @ 13:00 - 15:00 CEST
Diversity and inclusion in the workplace is imperative for a sustainable, competitive and innovative company and society at large. Diversity also goes beyond the outward perception of a company – it includes how the internal structures work and signal the value systems of an organization’s management or leadership team.
This series is designed by Diversify to centre Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace. We look forward to seeing you!
Transformational and Authentic Leadership.
Workplaces across the world have expressed a new or renewed commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB), along with increasing awareness about the importance of DEIB from a moral and business standpoint. Many companies are now creating and hiring new roles within DEIB, reevaluating their DEIB strategies and vision, rebranding their websites and communication channels, and are more vocal about their DEIB initiatives. These are all welcomed steps towards creating an inclusive workplace where people feel safe, respected, seen, heard and empowered to sit at the table and voice their opinions.
Nonetheless, in order to create an environment with meaningful, actionable and measurable impact on the DEIB initiative, leaders need to do more, and BE more. Who should be a leader? And what do we expect of them?

Speakers
Adebayo Onafuwa
With a Master’s Degree in HR and 15 years of industry experience, Adebayo’s passion for fairness and transparency inspired him to help organisations build a more inclusive workforce, starting with their recruitment and onboarding processes. Adebayo truly believes that diversity adds value and with this in mind, he has created a platform called Diversity Tomorrow Today to engage corporate leaders and help them gain access to experts, consultants, mentors, role models, training and resources within diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging that will help improve and sustain diversity within their workforce, while celebrating the efforts of diversity champions and platforms to help them gain more visibility and create deeper impact. Adebayo’s challenging question to decision makers is simply – “What are you doing today, differently from yesterday, that is inspiring a more inclusive workforce for tomorrow?”.
