Breastfeeding Course
October 2, 2020 @ 11:00 - 12:00 CEST
300$ – 1000$“Breast is best” as we’ve all been told. But “why?” and “how?” does something so natural pose challenges for new mothers? How can we prepare moms-to-be so that they enjoy instead of experiencing anxiety around breastfeeding?
In our four part series on breastfeeding, we invite Erin Koenig to share her knowledge and experience. With over 9 years of work in breastfeeding support and nursing her own children, ages 5 and 13, we are confident that Erin will share some valuable information around a very intimate conversation. She is a certified La Leche League leader and breast counselor as well as a body work expert, masseuse and yoga instructor. Expecting moms, new moms, and babies are welcome.
Why is breastfeeding important? What are the benefits?
Learn the ABC’s of Breastfeeding in this first meeting of the month. We will cover some of the
amazing benefits of breastfeeding from A to Z to both you and your baby in this class with a
game and a sharing circle. This session will be structured as an open discussion where we will address how human lactation works, how breastfeeding impacts your baby’s mental, physical, and emotional development, as well as your postpartum health.
Each month, we will repeat the cycle of topics. Whether you are a mother-to-be or currently breastfeeding, we want to give you relevant support by offering sessions tailored to your needs. Each stage of the breastfeeding journey is important for you and your baby. We will take a step by step approach that focuses on the mechanics, benefits and challenges of each stage. After the first class we will follow up with:
- New baby, family and routines around breastfeeding
- The art of breastfeeding and overcoming challenges that may arise
- Nutrition, weaning and transition back to work
Take part in this wonderful opportunity to build a supportive community of mothers and share your own experiences and tips. Babies are welcome. <3
