Mindful Accountability: An Introduction
August 18 @ 19:00 - 20:30 CEST
What does it mean to be mindful in our interactions with ourselves, one another, and the world?
Where does the concept/philosophy and practice of mindfulness come from, and how does it relate to engagement with equity and social justice?
When we envision accountability, what does it look like, and how do we enact it? Does it look different in our work lives than it does in our personal lives? How does it relate to our engagement with privilege and oppression?
If we begin to connect mindfulness and accountability, what possibilities for deeper engagement with ourselves, our communities, and our world can flourish?
We’ll begin to work through these questions and more during this introductory session on Mindful Accountability, as we explore its scope and implications in our lives, both personal and at work. As discussions surrounding both mindfulness and accountability multiply in a variety of sectors in response to the difficulty of the past years, we are invited to imagine and reimagine how we can be mindfully accountable to all our communities and relations.
Ro Averin centres Mindful Accountability in their work as an equity and social justice consultant and educator, and during this session she will lead participants through a variety of exercises, and offer information and tools for deeper understanding and implementation.
*This event is free for HerSpace Members*
